Job Overview: The position of Coordinateur-rice Terrain is crucial as it acts as the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director by delegation for the geographical area of intervention, specifically Mayotte. The individual in this role is responsible for proposing a regional strategy based on the context, the needs of vulnerable populations, and the associative and institutional landscape. They ensure that projects are executed in accordance with the charter of Solidarités International and comply with internal and contractual procedures. The coordinator mobilizes the necessary material and financial resources for effective program management and oversees their administration. Additionally, they coordinate the teams in place and ensure their safety within the designated area. The role also involves being the primary contact for the Country Director and institutions in the intervention zone. The first two to three months will focus on deploying the 2026 strategy, supporting team synergy and program integration, and strengthening partnerships while promoting MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning).
Duties and Responsibilities: The main duties and responsibilities of the Coordinateur-rice Terrain include:
Developing and implementing the regional strategy for the intervention area, ensuring alignment with the needs of vulnerable populations.
Overseeing project execution to ensure compliance with SI's charter and internal procedures.
Mobilizing and managing material and financial resources necessary for program implementation.
Coordinating and supervising the teams in the field, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Acting as the primary liaison with the Country Director and local institutions.
Supporting the integration of MEAL practices within the programs.
Strengthening partnerships with local actors and stakeholders.
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and making necessary adjustments.
Reporting on progress and challenges to the Country Director and relevant stakeholders. 1
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include:
A higher university degree.
At least 3-4 years of experience in the associative sector in France or in humanitarian work, with a portion of that time spent in positions of responsibility.
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
A background in the humanitarian sector for at least 3-4 years.
Technical skills in project management, particularly those funded by public authorities.
Knowledge of institutional and associative organizations in France.
Understanding of the challenges related to access to water, hygiene, and sanitation.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a higher university degree, which is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and project management. This educational background should ideally be complemented by relevant training or certifications in humanitarian aid, project management, or related fields.
Experience: The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically:
A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the associative or humanitarian sector, with at least 2-3 years in a similar role.
Experience in managing projects and teams in challenging environments, particularly in the context of humanitarian crises.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and to lead teams effectively.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory for this position. Additionally, knowledge of local languages such as Swahili, Shimahoré, or Malagasy is considered a plus, as it can enhance communication with local communities and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This position is a permanent contract with a salary starting from EUR 4,297 gross per month, depending on experience. The role is full-time and involves working in a challenging environment, particularly in response to humanitarian crises.
