Job Overview:
The position of Coordinateur-rice Terrain is crucial as it acts as the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director by delegation for the geographical area of intervention, specifically Mayotte. The individual in this role is responsible for proposing a regional strategy based on the context, the needs of vulnerable populations, and the associative and institutional landscape. They ensure that projects are executed in accordance with the charter of Solidarités International and comply with internal and contractual procedures. The coordinator mobilizes the necessary material and financial resources for the effective implementation of programs and oversees their management. Additionally, they coordinate the teams in place and ensure their safety within the designated area. The role also involves direct communication with the Country Director and institutions in the intervention zone. The first priorities for the initial months include deploying the 2026 strategy, supporting team synergy and programs, strengthening and developing partnerships, and promoting the integration of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities of the Coordinateur-rice Terrain include:
  • Developing and implementing the regional strategy for Mayotte based on the needs assessment and local context.
  • Ensuring that all projects align with the organization's charter and comply with internal and external regulations.
  • Mobilizing and managing financial and material resources effectively to support program implementation.
  • Coordinating and supervising the team, ensuring their safety and well-being in the field.
  • Acting as the primary liaison with the Country Director and local institutions, facilitating communication and collaboration.
  • Monitoring project progress and making necessary adjustments to ensure objectives are met.
  • Engaging with local communities and stakeholders to foster partnerships and enhance program impact.
  • Leading efforts to address urgent needs arising from crises, such as water shortages and sanitation issues.
  • Implementing and overseeing community mobilization initiatives to promote hygiene and sanitation practices. 1
  • Contributing to the development of pilot projects and disaster risk management strategies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a higher university degree and have at least 3-4 years of experience in the associative sector in France or in humanitarian work, with a portion of that time spent in positions of responsibility. Additionally, candidates should have 2-3 years of experience in a similar role and 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector. Technical skills required include knowledge of the institutional and associative landscape in France, understanding of water access, hygiene, and sanitation issues, and experience managing projects funded by public authorities. Transversal skills such as management capabilities, stress management, and the ability to prioritize urgent tasks are also essential.

Educational Background:
A higher university degree is required for this position, which demonstrates the candidate's academic qualifications and preparedness for the responsibilities involved in the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the associative or humanitarian sector, with at least 2-3 years in a similar role. This experience should include responsibilities that demonstrate leadership and project management capabilities.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of any local languages, such as Swahili, Shimahoré, or Malagasy, is considered a plus and may enhance communication with local communities.

The position is a permanent contract with a salary starting from EUR 4,297 gross per month, depending on experience.
