Job Overview:
In the role of Prospect Research Officer, you will be an integral part of the Philanthropy team within the Supporter Engagement department. This full-time, permanent position offers the flexibility of working from Melbourne, Sydney, or remotely. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and qualify high-value donors, trusts, foundations, and corporate partners whose interests align with Save the Children's mission. You will be tasked with delivering strategic donor insights that will shape meaningful engagement and providing thorough research that strengthens long-term relationships with supporters. Your work will directly contribute to the organization's impact on children in Australia, the Pacific, and globally, making this a vital role in the organization's fundraising efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Prospect Research Officer, your duties will include developing and implementing a comprehensive prospect development plan that aligns with the organization's funding priorities. You will conduct in-depth research and due diligence to support ethical fundraising practices, ensuring that all donor interactions are handled with the utmost integrity. Producing high-quality donor profiles, briefings, and strategic insights will be a key part of your role, as will collaborating with relationship managers to guide donor strategy and portfolio reviews. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records in donor databases and utilizing research tools to enhance the organization's fundraising capabilities.

Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of three years' experience in prospect development and research, as well as fundraising intelligence. Strong analytical skills and sound judgment in handling confidential donor information are essential. You should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and insightful research outputs. Proficiency in donor databases and research tools, such as Microsoft Dynamics and WealthX, is also required to effectively perform your duties.

Educational Background:
Candidates for the Prospect Research Officer position should ideally hold a degree in a relevant field such as nonprofit management, business administration, social sciences, or a related discipline. Advanced training or certifications in fundraising, research methodologies, or data analysis would be advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to professional development in the field.

Experience:
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of relevant experience in prospect development, research, and fundraising intelligence. This experience should include a proven track record of successfully identifying and qualifying high-value donors and managing donor relationships effectively. Familiarity with ethical fundraising practices and the ability to conduct thorough due diligence are critical components of the required experience.

Languages:
