Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is designed to provide support to the Programme Management Officer in various workstreams related to donor intelligence, resource mobilization, and partnership engagement. Interns will engage in research and analysis to identify potential donors and partners, assist in the preparation of outreach materials, and contribute to the development of proposals and concept notes. This role is crucial for enhancing the UN's ability to secure funding and build strategic partnerships that align with its mission and objectives. Interns will gain valuable experience in the field of international development and resource mobilization, while also developing their research, analytical, and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for supporting several key areas: A. Donor intelligence, landscape analysis, and pipeline development, which includes conducting targeted research on potential donors and partners, maintaining a corporate funding pipeline, and producing donor briefs. B. Donor engagement support for resource mobilization, which involves preparing outreach communications, meeting briefs, and analyzing financing modalities relevant to UNTB's work. C. Proposal and concept note development, where the intern will assist in drafting and editing documents to ensure alignment with strategic priorities. D. Partnership engagement and coordination support, which includes preparing materials for partner interactions and maintaining engagement documentation.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). A field of study in international development, economics, public policy, finance, international relations, or related fields is required. Demonstrated interest in development finance, resource mobilization, and partnerships is essential, along with strong research and analytical skills, and excellent drafting and editing skills in English.
Educational Background: Candidates should be students in the final year of their first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), or enrolled in or have completed a Master’s or Ph.D. program. Proof of enrollment or completion will be required during the application process. A background in relevant fields such as international development or economics is preferred.
Experience: While professional work experience is not required for this internship, candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in the field of development finance and resource mobilization. Relevant academic projects or volunteer experiences may be beneficial in showcasing the candidate's commitment and understanding of the sector.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this internship, as it is the primary working language of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of French or another United Nations official language is desirable and may enhance the candidate's application.
