Job Overview: The Programme Associate position at UN Women involves providing comprehensive support to the Programme Team in the development and implementation of effective programs that align with UN Women’s rules and regulations. The role includes contributing to monitoring reports, documenting lessons learned, managing financial aspects, and ensuring smooth program implementation. The Programme Associate will work closely with various personnel within the organization, including operations and project teams, to resolve complex finance-related issues and facilitate the exchange of information. This position is crucial for ensuring that the programs are executed efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overarching goals of gender equality and women's empowerment in Cambodia. The Programme Associate will also play a key role in administrative and logistical support, financial management, resource mobilization, and knowledge sharing within the organization, thereby enhancing the overall impact of UN Women’s initiatives in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and logistical support for project planning and management, including preparation of work plans, budgets, and concept papers.
Offer technical guidance to project managers on routine delivery and reporting of program activities and finances.
Review project data to promote visibility and gather information for documentation and reporting.
Support financial management by creating projects in the Quantum system, preparing budget revisions, and monitoring expenditures.
Undertake logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, and events, including travel arrangements for the Programme Team.
Assist in resource mobilization efforts by preparing agreements and processing information from donors.
Facilitate knowledge building by supporting the synthesis of lessons learned and organizing training for personnel and partners.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a minimum of secondary education, with a Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration being desirable. Candidates should have at least six years of progressively responsible experience in administrative or program management/support with secondary education, or at least three years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree. Proficiency in using multiple office software packages and experience in supporting a team are essential. Familiarity with modern web-based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable. Strong financial and budgeting skills are also required, along with the ability to manage data and documents effectively.
Educational Background: Completion of secondary education is required for this position, while a Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration is preferred. This educational background equips candidates with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the administrative and programmatic functions required by the role.
Experience: Candidates must have at least six years of progressively responsible experience in administrative or program management/support if they have only completed secondary education. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree are required to have at least three years of relevant experience. This experience should include working in a computer environment and supporting a team, as well as familiarity with financial management processes.
Languages: Fluency in English and Khmer is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is considered desirable and may enhance a candidate's application.
