Job Overview: The Team Leader for the Intensive Bail Initiative will play a crucial role in supporting families of young people who have interacted with the youth justice system. This position is part of a wrap-around service aimed at providing families with the necessary tools to thrive. The role involves leading a passionate team, building connections with local service providers, advocating for young people and their families, overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with service agreements, and traveling to various sites to support program delivery and evaluation. The position is full-time and is expected to last until June 30, 2026, emphasizing the importance of creating lasting change for children in the Mount Isa region.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Team Leader include:
Leading and developing a passionate team, providing professional supervision and support.
Building proactive connections with local service providers, including youth justice services and other specialist supports.
Advocating for young people and their families through local networks and engagement with government agencies.
Overseeing daily operations within the Bail Support programs, ensuring compliance with practice, child safeguarding standards, and service agreements.
Compiling relevant data to meet reporting requirements.
Traveling to all sites to support the delivery and evaluation of programs, ensuring effective implementation and outcomes.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong leadership skills and a genuine passion for motivating and guiding a high-performing team. They should have demonstrated experience working with youth at risk of involvement with the Youth Justice system, as well as families requiring support. Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities is essential. A Bachelor’s degree in a human services field or significant equivalent experience is required, along with experience in rural community work.

The salary is awarded at Level 6.1, which is $55.72 per hour, along with access to full PBI salary packaging benefits. Employees will receive a generous annual remote location allowance in addition to their base salary, and contributions towards one return economy domestic flight per year of continuous service. Employees are entitled to five weeks of annual leave, plus additional leave options to support their well-being.
