Job Overview: The Team Leader for the Play2Learn program will play a crucial role in supporting families and young children as they transition into early learning. This permanent full-time position involves leading a team of practitioners, providing effective feedback to maintain service quality, and ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and stakeholder expectations. The role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships, and a commitment to child safeguarding. The Team Leader will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating programmatic inputs and outcomes, ensuring that services meet client needs, and advocating for the needs of children, parents, and caregivers within the broader service system.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Team Leader include:
Leading a team through effective feedback to maintain service quality and ensure alignment with role responsibilities and outcomes.
Providing strong leadership through direct supervision, coaching, capability development, and performance management.
Ensuring timely and accurate monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on programmatic inputs, deliverables, and outcomes.
Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships by liaising with local communities, professionals, and service providers.
Identifying, managing, and monitoring risks to program/service delivery, quality, staff wellbeing, and Child Safeguarding.
Advocating within the broader service system for the needs of children, parents, and carers.
Required Qualifications: The position requires relevant qualifications in Social Work, Community Development, or a related field, or significant equivalent experience. Candidates should have proven experience working with children, families, and culturally diverse communities across relevant service systems. A solid understanding of legislation relevant to the program and adherence to required compliance frameworks is essential. Knowledge of child protection issues and a strong commitment to child safeguarding processes are also required.
Educational Background: Candidates should possess relevant qualifications in Social Work, Community Development, or a related field. Alternatively, significant equivalent experience in a related area may be considered acceptable. Educational background should reflect a strong understanding of child rights and community service delivery.
Experience: The role requires proven experience in managing programs and supervising staff, particularly in contexts involving children and families.
