Job Overview:
The Electrical Engineer position is integral to the ESDoc project within the Electrical Safety Section at CERN. This role focuses on updating and harmonizing CERN's electrical safety rules, technical instructions, and conformity documentation. The successful candidate will analyze existing French-speaking documents, identify gaps, and integrate updates from French and Swiss standards to contribute to a unified and modernized safety framework. The position requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and the ability to draft and consolidate technical documentation. The engineer will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that all safety documentation is accurate, relevant, and compliant with current standards, thereby enhancing the overall safety culture at CERN.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for updating, drafting, and consolidating electrical safety documentation within the ESDoc project. Key responsibilities include reviewing existing CERN electrical safety documents to identify gaps and inconsistencies, integrating NF C 15-100:2024 requirements, and ensuring alignment with ESP-HSE cluster documentation. The engineer will coordinate with electrical technical stakeholders to collect input, validate content, and ensure operational relevance. Additionally, the role involves supporting the development of standardized document structures, templates, and terminology, preparing materials for electrical safety awareness activities, maintaining document traceability and revision control, and contributing to project tracking, reporting, and follow-up activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a professional background in Electrical Engineering or a related field. They should possess either a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience. It is essential that applicants have never held a CERN fellow or graduate contract before. Experience in drafting or reviewing technical documentation, familiarity with electrical engineering topics, and exposure to technical standards and regulations are also required. Strong analytical skills and the ability to structure technical documentation are crucial for this role.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or a PhD in the same area. The educational background should include a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, particularly low voltage installations and electrical safety concepts. Candidates should have engaged in studies, internships, or project work that provided exposure to electrical engineering topics and safety fundamentals.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in drafting or reviewing technical documentation, procedures, or engineering standards in an academic, industrial, or project environment. Experience with photovoltaics is considered an asset. The candidate should also have involvement in multidisciplinary technical projects that require coordination and consolidation of inputs from multiple contributors, demonstrating the ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written French is mandatory, as the role involves working with French-speaking documents. A commitment to learning English is also required, as it may be beneficial for collaboration and communication within the international environment at CERN.

This position is a full-time role with a contract duration of 24 months, with the possibility of extension up to a maximum of 36 months. The working hours are set at 40 hours per week, and the job offers hybrid flexibility. The target start date for this position is June 1, 202
