Job Overview: The Infrastructure Engineering Analyst position at the World Bank Group is a critical role within the Information Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about leveraging technology to support the organization's mission of ending extreme poverty and enhancing shared prosperity. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and operation of enterprise storage and backup automation infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and OCI. This position requires a blend of storage and backup engineering expertise along with programming skills to create automated pipelines that ensure efficient provisioning, protection, recovery, replication, and lifecycle management of data. The Infrastructure Engineering Analyst will work closely with various technology teams to foster collaboration and drive innovation, ensuring that the IT infrastructure is robust, secure, and scalable to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Infrastructure Engineering Analyst will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Designing and implementing automated pipelines for storage and backup solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
Collaborating with teams to develop standardized, secure, and scalable storage solutions using both on-premises and cloud-native services.
Utilizing programming languages such as Python and others (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, or Go) to create automation scripts, APIs, and validation tests.
Implementing infrastructure as code practices using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar, to ensure compliant and repeatable deployments.
Administering Cohesity backup environments, focusing on policy design, immutability, and recovery orchestration.
Maintaining and optimizing Pure Storage arrays, ensuring high performance and reliability.
Monitoring storage and backup infrastructure performance, diagnosing issues, and implementing observability solutions.
Designing and testing disaster recovery plans, conducting exercises, and ensuring compliance with recovery objectives.
Handling escalations from the Network Operations Center (NOC) and resolving incidents through effective documentation and communication. 1
Leading implementations, migrations, and upgrades while providing capacity planning and cost optimization recommendations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in storage, backup, and recovery engineering. Hands-on expertise with cloud storage and data protection services (AWS, Azure, OCI) is essential, along with experience in managing Cohesity backup environments and Pure Storage arrays. Proficiency in infrastructure automation and programming is required, with a strong understanding of Unix/Linux systems and networking concepts. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to work independently and communicate complex technical topics clearly.
Educational Background: The educational requirements for this position include a Master's degree in a relevant field with at least 2 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. The focus should be on areas related to information technology, computer science, or engineering, particularly with an emphasis on storage and backup solutions.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience if holding a Master's degree, or at least 4 years of experience if holding a Bachelor's degree.
