Job Overview: The Resettlement Associate position is crucial in supporting UNHCR's resettlement operations, particularly in the context of Iraq, which is currently hosting a significant number of refugees and asylum-seekers. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Resettlement Associate include interviewing and assessing resettlement needs of individuals identified for resettlement, processing cases according to established procedures, and undertaking field missions as required. The incumbent will review and assess special resettlement cases, prepare individual submissions for presentation to resettlement countries, and maintain effective communication regarding the status of these cases. They will ensure compliance with UNHCR's standard operating procedures on resettlement, follow up on cases from submission to departure, and provide accurate information on resettlement policies and procedures to persons of concern (PoC) and partners. Additionally, the Resettlement Associate will manage and update the proGres or Consolidated Online Resettlement Tracking System (CORTS) database, coordinate travel and departure arrangements for refugees, and assist in preparing strategies and budgets for resettlement activities. The role also involves providing administrative support for training activities related to resettlement and systematically applying an Age, Gender and Diversity perspective in all aspects of the resettlement process.
