Job Overview: The position of Auditor involves working under the hierarchical supervision of the External Audit Manager. The primary responsibility is to support programs within your scope in conducting and mastering audits, while developing the autonomy and skills of field teams. You will ensure the quality and compliance of these audits, acting as a key player in accountability to donors. Additionally, you will facilitate the audit professional network. The role encompasses several missions, including capacity development and strengthening audit skills, contributing to audit strategy and oversight, ensuring compliance and optimization of programs, and defining and implementing operational standards and accountability measures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Capacity Development and Strengthening Audit Skills: You will act as an expert in supporting field audit teams, conducting training and workshops to enhance their capabilities. You will also support change management within programs and headquarters.
Strategy & Oversight: You will contribute to the development of the audit strategy by assisting in risk mapping, monitoring action plans, and analyzing key indicators. You will provide recommendations for performance improvement and regularly communicate results to the team.
Compliance Control and Program Optimization: You will monitor performance indicators, analyze recurring risks, and propose improvements to ensure compliance and effectiveness of audits within your portfolio.
Definition and Operational Implementation of Standards and Accountability: You will participate in defining and implementing audit standards, deploying projects, ensuring their follow-up, and advising teams to meet recommendations. You will conduct audits and provide support during absences to ensure continuity of activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess significant field experience and be knowledgeable in donor audit rules and practices. Experience in humanitarian project management is essential, as it enables representation of HI to auditors. Experience in professional facilitation and change management is a plus. Candidates should be organized, agile, and possess strong communication skills. A proficiency in data manipulation and familiarity with tools such as Excel and Power BI is required. Fluency in English is mandatory.
Educational Background: The position requires a relevant educational background in fields related to auditing, finance, or humanitarian project management. Specific degrees or certifications in auditing or related disciplines would be advantageous.
Experience: Candidates should have substantial experience in field operations, particularly in auditing and compliance within humanitarian contexts. Experience in managing audits and working with diverse teams is crucial for success in this role.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the regions in which HI operates.
Additional Notes: This is a fixed-term contract (CDD) for 12 months, starting from March 1, 2026, or as soon as possible. The position is classified as a managerial role with a status of cadre. Employees are entitled to 34 days of paid leave and 13 RTT days annually, along with a CET to help balance work-life commitments.
