Job Overview: The Graphic Designer position involves creating compelling communication content for both web and print media, including social media platforms. The selected candidate will work under the direct supervision of the National Project Officer in Boa Vista and collaborate with the Communications team based in Brasília. The role requires the production of engaging design elements for flagship publications, infographics, flyers, and maps that highlight IOM's activities in the North Region. The candidate will also support content production for various social media channels and will be responsible for capturing and editing images and videos. This position is crucial for implementing creative communication strategies that effectively convey IOM's mission and activities to the public.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Create design elements and layouts for key flagship publications, infographics, flyers, and maps that highlight IOM activities in the North Region.
Support the production of content for social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, and Facebook.
Capture and edit images and videos to enhance communication materials.
Edit low-complexity videos and clips produced by the team.
Assist in the layout of communications materials for both print and digital outputs.
Liaise with graphic designers and other service providers to develop and produce high-quality materials.
Support media and communication training for field teams in coordination with the national office in Brasília.
Provide overall support with research and fact-checking to produce accurate communication materials.
Stay updated on new design and social media trends, delivering creative and innovative ideas. 1
Ensure all communication materials adhere to the IOM branding manual and specific project branding guidelines. 1
Perform any other duties as required by the organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a High School diploma with at least three years of relevant professional experience, or a University degree in Social Communication, Graphic Design, or a related field with at least one year of relevant professional experience. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign is required, along with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to prepare clear and concise products. Knowledge in the field of migration is considered an advantage.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes either a High School diploma with a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience or a University degree in Social Communication, Graphic Design, or a related field, with at least one year of relevant professional experience. Candidates must have graduated from accredited universities recognized in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to prepare clear and concise products, and knowledge in the field of migration is advantageous.
Languages: The mandatory language for this position is Portuguese. Knowledge of English or Spanish is advantageous, as these languages are considered beneficial for effective communication within the organization. Proficiency in the required languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
