Job Overview:
The Analyst position at EBRD is crucial for supporting the preparation and implementation of Country Strategies. The role involves collaborating with various teams, including Banking, Political Counsellors, and Country Economists, to gather and manage inputs necessary for the development of these strategies. The Analyst will also maintain databases and assist in the preparation of Country Strategy Delivery Reviews. This position requires a proactive approach to research, analysis, and drafting, ensuring that all relevant discussions are documented and that progress is monitored against established timelines. The Analyst will also prepare presentations for Senior Management and the Board, contributing to the review of strategy and policy documents during the submission process. This role is integral to the EBRD's mission of fostering economic development and requires a strong understanding of the political and economic landscape in the regions served by the Bank.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
  • Supporting senior team members in orchestrating Country Strategy and Delivery Reviews through research, analysis, and drafting.
  • Monitoring the progress of preparation and approval processes, ensuring adherence to timelines and work plans.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality input for Country Strategy activities.
  • Preparing ad hoc presentations for Senior Management and the Board on Country Strategy issues.
  • Assisting the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director in reviewing strategy and policy documents during the SPCom submission process, including the preparation of supporting documents and meeting minutes.
  • Maintaining team databases and collaborating with other Analysts and Associates to ensure data accuracy and relevance.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in economics or business administration, with a Master’s degree being a strong advantage. Professional experience in an International Financial Institution (IFI) or similar environment is highly desirable, particularly with expertise in one of the Bank’s strategic themes such as Inclusion, Economic Governance, or Green Economy. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and synthesizing skills, with the ability to contribute to political and economic analysis relevant to the Bank's operations. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint and Excel. Familiarity with data analysis software such as Tableau or R is a plus.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s Degree in economics or business administration. A Master’s degree is preferred and will be considered a significant asset. The educational qualifications should provide a solid foundation in economic principles, business strategies, and analytical skills necessary for the role.

Experience:
The position requires demonstrable professional experience, ideally within an International Financial Institution (IFI) or in a role that involves working closely with IFIs. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the political and economic environment in the Transition Region and possess strategic thinking and planning skills relevant to private sector investment. Experience in preparing reports and presentations for senior management is also beneficial.

Languages:
