Job Overview: The MEAL Enumerator position at IOM is crucial for conducting monitoring and evaluation of the organization's activities. The role involves both remote and in-person interactions with beneficiaries, where the Enumerator will be responsible for collecting quantitative and qualitative data through interviews and direct observation. The Enumerator will work under the supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and the Senior M&E Associate, ensuring that data collection is conducted effectively and ethically. The Enumerator will also play a role in supporting accountability mechanisms and ensuring that beneficiary feedback is collected and documented appropriately.
Duties and Responsibilities: The MEAL Enumerator will undertake a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: conducting in-person monitoring of IOM activities such as distributions, trainings, and awareness sessions; administering interviews with beneficiaries through both telephone and in-person methods; managing quantitative and qualitative data collection for IOM projects; supporting the organization and documentation of focus group discussions; ensuring the use of appropriate tools for data collection; complying with interview requirements and obtaining beneficiary consent; maintaining confidentiality and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security procedures; conducting initial data quality reviews; cleaning and analyzing collected data; preparing draft monitoring reports; collecting and documenting beneficiary feedback; conducting follow-up calls to beneficiaries; supporting information provision sessions; distributing visibility materials; and completing any other tasks assigned by line managers. The Enumerator is expected to perform these duties with a high level of professionalism and accountability.

Languages: Fluency in Turkish is mandatory for this position, as the Enumerator will be interacting with beneficiaries in the local language. Proficiency in English is also desirable, as it may be necessary for reporting and documentation purposes. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the local context may be considered an asset.
Additional Notes: This position is a volunteer assignment, not employment, and the selected candidate will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The monthly living allowance is USD 968.81, paid in Turkish Lira, along with private insurance coverage for health, dental, life, and dismemberment. An entry allowance of USD 400 and an exit allowance of USD 134.56 per month upon satisfactory completion of the assignment are also provided. Volunteers will accrue 2.5 days of annual leave per calendar month and will have free access to various learning platforms and the UN & UNV network. It is important to note that UNV assignments are not to be understood as salaries or compensations for volunteer work, and an additional IOM security clearance may be required for shortlisted candidates.
