Job Overview:
The Cleaner position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the office and guest house. This includes a variety of tasks such as cleaning floors, windows, office rooms, and furniture, as well as managing waste disposal. The role also involves ensuring that the office is in good working order and that all necessary cleaning supplies are available. The Cleaner will operate various cleaning machines and inform the logistician of any maintenance needs. This position is crucial for creating a pleasant and hygienic environment for staff and visitors alike, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the organization’s operations in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Cleaner will be tasked with a comprehensive set of responsibilities including: cleaning the office by collecting and disposing of rubbish, cleaning floors, windows, office rooms, and furniture; ensuring the office is in good hygienic condition; maintaining the guest house in a clean and orderly state; operating cleaning machines such as vacuum cleaners and laundry machines; informing the logistician of any maintenance needs concerning the building; ensuring that cleaning products and refreshments are available and stored safely; monitoring the consumption of cleaning supplies and refreshments; and performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor related to the maintenance of the office or guesthouse.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least one year of previous experience in cleaning, which includes the safe use of cleaning chemicals and machinery. Experience in a similar role, particularly within an international non-governmental organization (INGO), is highly desirable. The candidate should also be in good physical condition, capable of lifting objects up to 15 kilograms multiple times a day, and able to stand for extended periods. A commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment is essential.

Educational Background:
A minimum educational requirement for this position is a High School diploma or an equivalent international qualification. This educational background ensures that the candidate has the basic literacy and numeracy skills necessary for the role.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have at least one year of relevant experience in cleaning roles. This experience should ideally include familiarity with the use of cleaning chemicals and machinery, as well as a demonstrated ability to maintain cleanliness in various environments, particularly in an office or institutional setting.

Languages:
Fluency in the local language is mandatory, along with a working knowledge of English. This bilingual capability is essential for effective communication within the organization and with local stakeholders.
