Job Overview: The Partnership Support Officer position is located in the FAO Country Office in Islamabad and operates at the SB3 SC6 level. The incumbent will work under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative and the direct supervision of the Assistant FAOR (Programme). The role involves providing partnership support to enhance coordination with government entities, UN agencies, development partners, academia, and the private sector. The officer will be responsible for strategic programme planning, coordination, and reporting across FAO’s project portfolio, as well as supporting donor engagement through the preparation of briefings and information products. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of FAO's initiatives in Pakistan.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Partnership Support Officer include:
Supporting the preparation of information products, such as PowerPoint presentations and briefing notes, to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Maintaining awareness of current activities, political and social events related to the UN and other multilateral bodies, and analyzing their potential impact on FAO activities and programmes.
Assisting in the preparation of briefing documents for external meetings with donors and partners.
Collaborating with Project Managers and communication officers to organize events, including field visits, workshops, and other external engagements.
Planning and managing activities, developing terms of reference, concept notes, presentations, and briefs to facilitate engagement with targeted partners.
Coordinating closely with government partners, development, and humanitarian agencies on strategies, frameworks, and priorities.
Maintaining and updating unit databases, planning matrices, and reporting schedules for the project portfolio.
Proactively connecting with stakeholders in government, academia, and the private sector to expand partnerships with FAO Pakistan.
Performing other duties as required to support the overall objectives of the FAO Country Office.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in Business or Public Administration, International Relations, Economics, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible work experience in international development, particularly in programme management and report writing, is required. A working knowledge of the English language is essential, along with the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams. Candidates must be nationals of Pakistan.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as Business, Public Administration, International Relations, or Economics. Candidates must have obtained their higher educational qualifications from institutions accredited or recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible work experience in international development, specifically in programme management and report writing. Candidates should have a proven track record of engaging with government entities, development partners, and the private sector, contributing to the achievement of strategic plans and priorities.
Languages: A working knowledge of the English language is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not explicitly required.
