Job Overview: The Inclusion Specialist will operate under the management of the Technical Head of Program and will be responsible for overseeing the functional management of technical officers related to inclusion domains. This role requires engagement with both internal stakeholders and external parties, including partners, local authorities, and other humanitarian organizations. The Inclusion Specialist will work across seven bases in Afghanistan, focusing on Inclusive Humanitarian Action (IHA), Universal Accessibility, and Inclusive Governance services. The position aims to ensure quality assurance, capacity building, and sustained support for promoting disability inclusion within humanitarian initiatives. The Inclusion Specialist will contribute to country strategies aligned with global strategies, provide technical support to projects, facilitate technical learning, and monitor the technical quality of HI's activities. Additionally, the role involves developing research and innovation projects, assisting in the Professional Channel within the Technical Division, and ensuring alignment with humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Inclusion Specialist will have four primary responsibilities: 1) Expertise: Contribute to country strategies, provide technical support to projects, facilitate technical learning, monitor technical quality, and assist in developing research projects. 2) Influence: Enhance HI's external prestige, collaborate with the Disability/Accountability Task Force, engage with government agencies, and build partnerships with relevant stakeholders. 3) Business Development: Foster the development of new projects, lead context analysis on disability inclusion, and identify local partnerships in the rehabilitation sector. 4) Emergency Preparedness and Response: Participate in emergency preparedness actions and adapt methodologies during emergencies to contribute to effective humanitarian response efforts.
