Job Overview:
The Program Manager position at IFC in Peru is pivotal for operationalizing the IFC 2030 strategy and enabling the Cascade at the country level. The individual in this role will be responsible for developing operational country strategies and action plans in close collaboration with World Bank Group counterparts. The Program Manager will oversee a substantial portfolio of approximately US$1.1 billion and will be tasked with significantly building this portfolio, developing new opportunities for IFC in Peru, and enhancing the organization's impact. This role requires the Program Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team of investment and advisory services professionals, support staff, and consultants, ensuring effective collaboration and communication with corporate clients, government entities, and other stakeholders. The Program Manager will report directly to the Latin America Division Director for Andean Countries and the Caribbean, making this a high-profile position within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Program Manager will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
  • Developing, designing, and implementing multi-year country strategies and implementation plans for integrated investment and advisory operations, including upstream engagements and sector priorities.
  • Overseeing all IFC investment and advisory activities in the cluster of countries.
  • Leading coordination with World Bank institutions and overseeing the design and implementation of Joint Business Plans (JBPs) and other collaborative efforts at the country level.
  • Contributing to the development of Systematic Country Diagnostics (SCDs), Country Climate Development Reports (CCDRs), Country Private Sector Diagnostics (CPSDs), and Country Partnership Frameworks (CPFs).
  • Managing and developing relationships with key clients at the highest levels, positioning IFC as the partner of choice for impactful development projects.
  • Identifying and implementing measures to improve country results in terms of efficiency, productivity, and impact.
  • Leading, managing, and mentoring a diverse team to ensure high performance and commitment to IFC's success in the country.
  • Identifying areas for market development through upstream engagements and innovation.
  • Developing a client engagement strategy for existing and new clients. 1
  • Reviewing and validating IFC's added value and development impact for all investments and advisory services clients. 1
  • Providing guidance for complex investment structuring and portfolio management cases. 1
  • Strengthening IFC's brand and visibility in target markets through effective communication strategies and participation in high-profile events.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Program Manager position must possess an MBA or equivalent professional qualification, along with a minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership capacity. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in developing client relationships, with an existing network of top-level contacts in both the private and public sectors of the country. A proven track record in investment and advisory activities is essential, as well as strong leadership capabilities and experience managing diverse teams. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to represent IFC externally and think strategically, adjusting country strategies as needed. Experience in transaction processing and portfolio supervision is a strong plus, along with work experience in the Latin America and Caribbean region.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an MBA or an equivalent professional qualification. This advanced degree is essential for understanding the complexities of investment and advisory operations within the context of international finance and development.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role. Candidates should have a strong background in investment and advisory activities, with demonstrated success in developing client relationships and managing teams. Experience in transaction processing and portfolio supervision is highly desirable, particularly within the context of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is essential for communication within the organization and with international stakeholders. Proficiency in Spanish is preferred, as it will facilitate interactions with local clients and government entities in Peru.
