Job Overview:
The Protection Community Mobilizer position is crucial for building and maintaining trust relationships with target communities, particularly focusing on vulnerable groups such as children, youth, and women. The role involves identifying individuals and households with specific needs and providing them with necessary information and orientation about available services. The mobilizer will also contribute to the development of awareness materials on protection-related issues and raise awareness among beneficiaries and external stakeholders. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure that all data related to protection monitoring is handled confidentially and in accordance with data protection protocols. The mobilizer will compile information from team members, prepare periodic protection reports, and coordinate activities during assessments and studies in the field.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain trust relationships with target communities, ensuring effective communication and engagement.
  • Identify and refer individuals and households with specific needs, focusing on vulnerable groups.
  • Develop gender- and age-sensitive awareness materials on key protection issues.
  • Raise awareness among beneficiaries and target communities about protection-related issues and available services.
  • Handle all data related to protection monitoring with strict confidentiality.
  • Compile information from team members and prepare periodic protection reports.
  • Attend meetings and coordinate with concerned CC Teams and specialized actors.
  • Manage the team of Protection community mobilizers during assessments and studies in the field.
  • Ensure compliance with NRC's safeguarding policies and contribute to a safe environment for all.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience working directly with affected or local communities in a humanitarian context.
  • Previous experience in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Experience in conducting protection monitoring, case management, or other protection-related activities.
  • Basic knowledge or interest in international standards and protection fundamental concepts.
  • Ability to analyze and integrate information from various sources.
  • Proficiency in IT tools, including MS Office, internet, and email.
  • Sufficient working knowledge of English.
  • Knowledge of the context in Kayah State and familiarity with local languages (Kayah or Kayan Language) is preferred.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background in social sciences, humanitarian studies, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with practical experience in community mobilization or protection work may also be considered, even if they do not have formal educational qualifications in the field.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in protection or community mobilization roles within humanitarian settings. Experience in complex and volatile contexts is highly valued, as is familiarity with the specific challenges faced by vulnerable populations in crisis situations.

Languages:
Mandatory: Sufficient working knowledge of English. Good to have: Knowledge of local languages, specifically Kayah or Kayan Language, is advantageous for effective communication with the target communities.
