Job Overview: The position involves the creative design and layout development of the 2025 UN Country Results Report for Bahrain (UNCRR). The consultant will be responsible for producing a visually appealing and informative document in both English and Arabic, ensuring that it is accessible and engaging for the intended audience. The report will serve as a key communication tool for the UN's activities and results in Bahrain, highlighting the impact of its programs and initiatives. The consultant will work closely with the Director of UNIC Manama and the Bahrain RCO to ensure that the design aligns with the UN's communication standards and effectively conveys the intended messages.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a final design template for the 2025 UN Country Results Report for Bahrain, including layout and graphic design mockups for both English and Arabic versions. This includes creating design elements such as the cover page, end page, headings, subheadings, and thematic themes, which must be approved by the Bahrain RCO.
Create the designed English version of the UNCRR based on the approved template and the content provided by the Bahrain RCO.
Ensure proper alignment of design elements, make necessary adjustments, and deliver the final designed English version in both PDF and editable formats.
Collaborate with the Bahrain RCO regarding Arabic fonts, update all graphical elements with the Arabic translation, and adjust design elements to ensure alignment with the Arabic content.
Provide the final designed Arabic version of the UNCRR in both PDF and editable formats, ensuring that all design elements are properly aligned and finalized.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in design, visual communications, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of three years of experience in graphic design or visual communications is required. Previous experience in designing similar reports is essential, and familiarity with UN entities and their communication requirements is highly desirable. Candidates must also demonstrate no conflict of interest with UNCT members or implementing partners, ensuring impartiality in the design and evaluation process.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in design, visual communications, or a related field is mandatory for this position. Candidates are required to submit a copy of their educational degree as part of the application process.
