Job Overview: The Programme Assistant (Protection) position is crucial for providing administrative and operational support to Protection and Refugee Care activities under relevant programmes implemented across Indonesia. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Programme Officer (Protection and Community Liaison) and the overall supervision of the Community Accountability Coordinator in Jakarta. The role involves supporting the Jakarta RCA team and other relevant units, primarily providing support to field locations remotely and through periodic visits as needed. The Programme Assistant will assist in case management activities, community engagement, and other pertinent tasks for the Makassar office, ensuring that all responsibilities align with programme requirements and adhere to IOM policies and standards. The position requires a proactive approach to support the implementation and monitoring of Protection activities, including PSEAH, GBV, and child protection initiatives, while also engaging in data management and administrative tasks to facilitate effective programme delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Programme Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: supporting the implementation and monitoring of Protection activities, including PSEAH, GBV, and child protection; retrieving, compiling, summarizing, and presenting information/data on Protection activities and related cases; providing administrative support to budget monitoring processes, verifying fund availability, obtaining necessary approvals, and updating budget-related information; supporting field visits by following up on service delivery and collecting beneficiary feedback; providing logistical support to PSEAH-related activities in coordination with the Jakarta team; assisting in the delivery of assistance and protection services to refugees in accordance with RCA Operational Guidelines; drafting status reports and highlighting gaps in follow-through actions; preparing correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other documentation; organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions; responding to general information requests and inquiries on Protection; and maintaining files and records. The incumbent may also be assigned other related duties as necessary.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Management, Economics, Political Science, Social Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, or Business and Counseling from an accredited academic institution, along with two years of relevant working experience. Alternatively, candidates with a High School diploma must have four years of working experience. It is essential that the educational qualifications are from accredited universities recognized in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. The role requires a strong understanding of protection assistance and mental health-related activities, as well as experience in providing project implementation support and administrative activities. Exposure to training activities is considered an advantage, and experience in migration management activities, particularly with immigration processes and beneficiary contexts, is also beneficial.

Languages: IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish. Proficiency in the required language(s) will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include both written and oral assessments. Candidates must demonstrate their ability to communicate effectively in English, as it is crucial for preparing reports and documentation, as well as for liaising with various stakeholders.
