Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the Policy and data-related activities of the UN Resident Coordinator Office and the UN Country Team. Key responsibilities include:
Data Collection and Analysis: Gathering quantitative and qualitative data from diverse sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency, and utilizing software tools for data analysis. Preparing visual presentations of data insights.
Policy Research and Support: Assisting in the research of relevant policies and regulations, comparing policies across regions, and reviewing academic and governmental publications to inform policy development.
Report/Policy Brief Writing: Writing research summaries and policy briefs, creating presentations to communicate findings, and condensing complex information for stakeholders.
Organizational Support: Assisting in organizing events and webinars, supporting communication efforts, and developing content for advocacy materials.
Continuous Learning: Participating in training opportunities to enhance skills in policy analysis and data analytics, and staying updated on trends in the field.
Required Qualifications: Applicants for the UN Internship Programme are not required to have prior professional work experience. However, candidates must be enrolled in or have completed a degree program closely related to the internship. This includes students in their final year of a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or Ph.D. program in fields such as Public Policy, Public Administration, International Development Studies, International Relations, Social Sciences, Political Science, Law, Economics, or other relevant disciplines. Proof of enrollment or completion of the degree will be required during the application process.
Educational Background: Candidates must be students in the final year of their first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), or enrolled in a master's or Ph.D. program. Alternatively, applicants may have already completed a bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. program.
