Job Overview:
The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing, coordinating, and overseeing the activities of the IOM Podkarpacie programme. This position requires the successful candidate to independently lead and coordinate the implementation of the project, ensuring that all activities are executed according to established plans. The Project Coordinator will monitor the implementation process, analyze any difficulties that arise, and make recommendations for adjustments to work plans to adapt to the changing environment in the field. Additionally, the role involves regular research and analysis of national, regional, and international developments, as well as compiling and presenting relevant information to stakeholders. The Project Coordinator will also be responsible for monitoring budget expenditures, verifying the availability of funds, and maintaining accurate records of project budgets and revisions. The position requires effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, and other stakeholders, as well as the preparation of narrative and financial reports in a timely manner. The Project Coordinator will also identify and document good practices and lessons learned, contributing to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and new project proposals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Coordinator include:
  • Leading and coordinating the implementation of the IOM Podkarpacie programme.
  • Monitoring project activities to ensure compliance with established plans and timelines.
  • Analyzing implementation challenges and recommending adjustments to work plans.
  • Conducting regular research and analysis of relevant developments and legislation.
  • Monitoring budget expenditures and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Coordinating financial, administrative, and technical aspects of the project in line with IOM policies.
  • Planning and conducting capacity-building workshops for stakeholders.
  • Participating in meetings and conferences to maintain effective communication with partners.
  • Preparing narrative and financial reports and ensuring timely submission. 1
  • Identifying and documenting good practices and lessons learned. 1
  • Supporting the development of new projects and proposals. 1
  • Coordinating information management related to project activities. 1
  • Ensuring compliance with project partners and stakeholders. 1
  • Supervising and training reporting staff. 1

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Project Coordinator position include:
  • A school diploma with seven years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields with five years of relevant professional experience.
  • A Master’s degree in the aforementioned fields is considered an advantage.
  • Proven experience in project development and management, including programme quality control.
  • Experience in programme conceptualization, development, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation.
  • Experience in capacity-building activities and liaising with governmental authorities and NGOs.
  • Experience working with migrants, refugees, and other vulnerable groups.
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations is preferred.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a school diploma with seven years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with five years of professional experience. A Master’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields is advantageous and may enhance a candidate's profile.

Experience:
The position requires significant experience in project development and management, with a focus on programme quality control. Candidates should have a proven track record in programme conceptualization, development, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation. Experience in capacity-building activities and working with governmental authorities, international institutions, and NGOs is essential. Additionally, familiarity with the challenges faced by migrants, refugees, and other vulnerable groups is crucial, as is prior work experience in a multicultural setting with international humanitarian organizations.

Languages:
Fluency in Polish and English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. A working knowledge of Ukrainian is considered a valuable asset, as it may facilitate communication with specific populations served by the programme.
