Job Posting Organization:
The Office of Supply Chain Management (OSCM) is part of the Department of Operational Support (DOS) within the United Nations. The DOS was established to provide comprehensive operational support and advisory services to various entities across the UN Secretariat, including departments, offices away from UN headquarters, field missions, and regional commissions. OSCM is dedicated to building efficient and responsive supply chain solutions for global partners and clients, covering a wide range of services such as supply chain planning, logistical support, procurement, and vendor management. The office also provides advisory services to nearly 100 client entities globally, including troop and police contributing countries.

Job Overview:

Interns will work closely with the OSCM team, contributing to projects that aim to enhance the office's communication strategies and visual identity. Interns will also engage in collaborative efforts to maintain and update online platforms, create social media communication plans, and apply graphic design skills to improve user experience and organizational branding. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about the UN's operations while making a meaningful impact in the OSCM.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including designing core identity products, preparing content for corporate briefings and presentations, supporting website development, and providing design support for print and online products. They will collaborate with team members to update and maintain SharePoint and iSeek pages, create communication plans for social media, and apply graphic design skills to enhance visual appeal. Additionally, interns will participate in brainstorming sessions to identify new communication initiatives and assist in creating templates or style guides for future communications. The role requires a proactive approach to learning and contributing to the OSCM's mission.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in a graduate school program, be in the final academic year of a university degree program, or have graduated with a university degree. The UN is open to a diverse range of educational and professional backgrounds, particularly those related to graphic design and communications. Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Canva Pro is essential. While no prior work experience is required, relevant training or coursework that benefits the UN is advantageous.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a background in fields related to graphic design, communications, or a similar area. This includes being enrolled in or having completed a university degree program at the bachelor's level or higher. The internship is particularly suited for those pursuing studies in design, media, or communications, as well as those with skills in using design software and tools.

Experience:
No prior work experience is necessary to apply for this internship. However, candidates should possess relevant training, education, or skills that can contribute to the UN's objectives during their internship. Experience with graphic design and website design is beneficial, as the role requires practical application of these skills.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, is desirable and may enhance a candidate's application.

The internship is available for a minimum duration of three months, with the possibility of extension up to six months. Interns can work on a full-time or part-time basis, and flexible working arrangements may be considered. Interns are not financially compensated by the UN, and they are responsible for their own travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses.
