Job Overview:
The logistics-officer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Officer position at NRC is crucial for ensuring the effective management of logistics operations within the organization. This role involves overseeing the use and maintenance of vehicles, stock, and assets in accordance with the NRC Logistics Handbook and country-level policies. The Logistics Officer will be responsible for conducting daily operational logistics activities, ensuring accurate counts and control of stock and assets, and maintaining proper documentation for all logistics-related activities. The position requires a proactive approach to managing logistics processes, supporting the line manager in evaluating and reporting on warehouse activities, and ensuring that all procurement activities are carried out according to established standard operating procedures (SOPs). The Logistics Officer will also play a key role in inventory management, asset tracking, and ensuring that all vehicles are operational and compliant with safety regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Officer will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Ensuring that vehicles, stock, and assets are utilized and maintained according to NRC policies.
  • Conducting daily operational logistics activities and maintaining close control of stock and assets.
  • Preparing logistic reports as required by the Country/Area office and ensuring accurate data entry into logistics systems.
  • Supporting the line manager in managing warehouse activities, including stock management and reporting.
  • Participating in inventory management, tagging, and recording all assets and inventory.
  • Carrying out procurement activities in accordance with SOPs and maintaining updated supplier databases.
  • Preparing payment requests for procurements and other expenses related to NRC operations.
  • Receiving, storing, and distributing materials and supplies while ensuring proper documentation for payments.
  • Supporting drivers in their daily tasks and ensuring that vehicles are equipped with necessary legal documents and safety equipment. 1
  • Coordinating with program teams for vehicle movement planning and ensuring compliance with safety rules. 1
  • Filing vehicle records and monitoring fuel usage. 1
  • Reporting any accidents, breakdowns, or potential fraud cases in accordance with established processes. 1
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned by the line manager.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Logistics Officer position will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Experience working in a humanitarian or recovery context is desirable, particularly in complex and volatile environments. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational and team-working skills, as well as the ability to plan and implement logistics operations effectively. A good understanding of logistics processes and the ability to work under pressure are essential. Additionally, candidates should have documented results related to the responsibilities of the position, showcasing their ability to deliver results in a challenging environment.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required for the Logistics Officer position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding logistics operations and management within a humanitarian context. Candidates with additional certifications or training in logistics, supply chain management, or related fields may have an advantage in the selection process.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience working in a humanitarian or recovery context, with a preference for those who have worked in complex and volatile situations. Experience in logistics management, inventory control, and procurement processes is highly desirable. Languages:
