Job Overview:
The Driver position at UNDP Iraq is crucial for providing reliable and safe transportation services to the Country Office management, operations, and program staff, as well as consultants and UN officials. The role requires a client-oriented approach, a high sense of responsibility, and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse national and cultural backgrounds. The Driver will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of transportation services, which includes not only driving but also maintaining the vehicle and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This position is integral to the overall functioning of the Country Office, as it supports the mobility of personnel and contributes to the efficient implementation of UNDP's programs and initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver's primary responsibilities include providing secure driving services for authorized personnel, transporting staff and visitors, and delivering and collecting mail and documents. The Driver will meet official personnel at the airport and assist with visa and customs formalities when necessary. Additionally, the Driver is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, including keeping accurate vehicle logs, preparing maintenance plans, and ensuring timely repairs. The Driver must ensure that all required documents and supplies are available in the vehicle, maintain the first aid kit, and take appropriate actions in case of accidents. The role also involves assisting with various administrative tasks as needed, contributing to the efficient functioning of the office and the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess secondary education and a valid driver’s license. A minimum of three years of relevant work experience as a driver with a safe driving record is required. Knowledge of driving regulations, rules, and laws is essential, along with skills in minor vehicle repair and maintenance. Familiarity with basic computer applications and web-based management systems is also necessary. Experience working with UN/UNDP or international organizations is preferred, as is the ability to thrive in a multicultural environment. Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is secondary education. A valid driver’s license is mandatory, and candidates should have a demonstrated ability to maintain a safe driving record throughout their career.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience as a driver, particularly in a context similar to that of UNDP Iraq. Candidates should have experience with both heavy and light passenger vehicles and possess knowledge of driving regulations and vehicle maintenance. Experience in a multicultural and multinational environment is highly valued, as is familiarity with UN protocols and security requirements.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Arabic is required for this position. Knowledge of Kurdish is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's suitability for the role.
