Job Overview: The National Project Development and Reporting Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the coordination and facilitation of project development and reporting related to IOM's program and project activities. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the National Project Development and Reporting Officer include:
Supporting the coordination and facilitation of project development and donor reporting related to IOM's program activities.
Assisting in the preparation of results-based programs and projects by compiling inputs and drafting sections of concept notes and project proposals.
Reviewing and consolidating resource requirements and program information by collecting data on needs and gaps.
Supporting the endorsement and clearance processes for project proposals and assisting Project Managers in preparing donor reports.
Researching potential funding opportunities and compiling donor-related information.
Maintaining working-level contacts with donors and project partners, facilitating communication and preparing briefing materials.
Assisting in the logistical organization of donor briefings and capacity-building activities.
Maintaining accurate records and filing systems for project documentation and reporting files. 1
Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the National Project Development and Reporting Officer position include a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited institution, along with two years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in the aforementioned fields is acceptable. Candidates should possess strong communication, writing, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to prepare clear and concise reports. Knowledge of migration-related subject areas, UN and bilateral donor programming, and financial regulations is essential. Educational Background: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution. A Master’s degree in these fields is also acceptable, particularly for those with less professional experience. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of migration and development issues that the IOM addresses.
Experience: Candidates should have experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national and international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, and other vulnerable groups is highly valued. Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations or in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage, as it demonstrates the ability to navigate complex environments and work effectively with diverse populations.
