Job Overview:
The position of Global Roster of Climate Innovation and Technology Experts is designed for individuals who are passionate about addressing climate change and its impact on children and communities. The role involves working with UNICEF's Global Programme Division to provide expertise in climate innovation and technology. The experts will be expected to contribute to the development and implementation of strategies that leverage technology to combat climate change and promote sustainable practices. This position is remote, allowing for flexibility and collaboration with teams across various regions. The experts will play a crucial role in identifying innovative solutions and best practices that can be scaled and adapted to different contexts, ensuring that the needs of vulnerable populations are prioritized in climate action initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on climate innovation and technology solutions that can be implemented in UNICEF programs.
  • Collaborate with UNICEF teams to develop and implement climate action strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Conduct research and analysis on emerging technologies and practices in climate innovation.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to build capacity among UNICEF staff and partners.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven expertise in climate innovation and technology, with a strong understanding of the intersection between climate change and child rights.
  • Experience working with international organizations, NGOs, or government agencies on climate-related projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse teams and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A master's degree or higher in environmental science, climate change, sustainable development, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in climate technology or innovation are a plus.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in climate innovation, technology development, or related fields is required. Experience working in international development or humanitarian contexts is highly desirable.

Languages:
