Job Overview: The coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Finance Coordinator position is a critical role within the Finance Department, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with donor requirements, statutory obligations, and audit readiness while overseeing partner financial management. The Finance Coordinator will exercise significant independent judgment and will be expected to maintain high standards of financial integrity and accountability. The role involves collaboration with various teams, including programs, country, and global support departments, as well as external partners and auditors. The Finance Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the financial health of the organization and ensuring that financial practices align with both organizational policies and donor expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Finance Coordinator will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Sub-Grant Management & Partner Oversight: Reviewing and verifying sub-grant financial reports for compliance, maintaining financial files, and addressing compliance issues with partner organizations.
Financial Reporting & Month-End Processes: Preparing month-end financial reports, drafting donor financial reports, and participating in year-end closure activities.
Taxation, Statutory Compliance & Payroll Support: Leading the preparation and filing of statutory requirements, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and managing tax adjustments for employees.
Treasury & Cash Management: Preparing Requests for Funds, forecasting cash requirements, and overseeing cash flow management.
Budgeting & Project Support: Assisting in developing project spend-down plans, supporting budget preparation for proposals, and verifying payment requests.
Audit & Documentation: Leading audit preparations, organizing transaction samples, and maintaining filing systems for documentation.
Strategy & Team Support: Providing technical guidance to finance staff, improving financial policies, and performing ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is considered an advantage. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of three years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or financial management, preferably within international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and ideally in the Philippines.
