Job Overview:
The ICT Officer plays a crucial role in providing technical ICT support to the NRC office in Sudan. This position involves implementing NRC's ICT policies and guidelines at the office level, ensuring system security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and maintaining network access privileges, applications, data storage, and regular backups. The ICT Officer is responsible for implementing and updating a data disaster recovery plan, scheduling computer-related services, maintenance, and license renewals, as well as ensuring the installation and maintenance of protection services such as anti-viruses and firewalls. The role also includes planning network upgrades, expansions, and replacements, providing ICT support and training to staff, and participating in the procurement processes of ICT equipment. The ICT Officer is expected to recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organizational outcomes, identifying problems, and anticipating requirements. Additionally, the officer will visit areas of implementation to provide support for internet setup in new bases and submit visit reports highlighting key technical recommendations for future improvements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The ICT Officer's duties and responsibilities include: implementing NRC's ICT policies and procedures, ensuring system security, maintaining network access privileges, and managing data storage and backups. The officer will also implement a data disaster recovery plan, schedule maintenance and license renewals, and ensure the installation of protection services. Specific responsibilities include recommending IT strategies and policies, adhering to NRC ICT guidelines, visiting implementation areas to support internet setup, submitting visit reports, ensuring timely availability and maintenance of ICT equipment, troubleshooting and diagnosing problems, setting up and configuring hardware and accounts, monitoring and maintaining internet and network systems, implementing NRC filing systems, providing IT support and capacity building to users, keeping track of mobile equipment handovers, working with logistics to tag ICT equipment, interacting with external service providers, identifying ICT problems, and maintaining an accurate ICT asset management system.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the ICT Officer position include a minimum of one to two years of experience working as an ICT Officer or in a similar technical role within a humanitarian or recovery context. Candidates should have previous experience working in complex and volatile environments, documented results related to the position's responsibilities, and a solid understanding of their own skills and profile.
