Job Overview: The internship program is designed to provide hands-on experience in data management and analysis within the Private Sector Partnerships Unit of UNHCR in Italy. The intern will work under the supervision of the CRM Manager, who will guide the intern in various tasks related to data management, maintenance, and quality assurance. The intern will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of reports and analyses, conducting data queries, and supporting the implementation of Salesforce projects. This role is crucial for enhancing the organization's ability to raise funds from private donors and strengthen its supporter base. The intern will also engage with various stakeholders, including staff and external service providers, to ensure effective communication and task completion.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Supporting the delivery of reports and analyses by conducting data queries and selections to assist various projects.
Assisting in the implementation of the Salesforce project, particularly in data quality activities for data migration and user acceptance testing.
Performing data entry tasks to maintain and update the database.
Collecting, cleaning, and managing data from multiple sources.
Developing and implementing database management procedures and addressing data quality issues as needed.
Conducting periodic reconciliation tasks and data cleansing activities to enhance the accuracy of the donor database.
Performing literature reviews and background research as requested.
Utilizing statistical tools and software to interpret data sets and identify trends.
Preparing reports and presentations based on data analysis findings. 1
Collaborating closely with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations. 1
Providing general administrative support to the team as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria to be considered for the internship, including:
Being a recent graduate (having completed studies within the last two years) or a current student in a graduate or undergraduate program from an accredited university.
Having completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a relevant field. Additionally, candidates with family ties to current UNHCR staff members are ineligible for this internship.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant to the work of UNHCR. This may include areas such as social sciences, international relations, data science, or any other discipline that provides a foundation for understanding the organization's mission and operations.
Experience: While prior work experience is not mandatory for this internship, candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in data management and analysis. Any relevant coursework, projects, or volunteer experiences that showcase analytical skills or familiarity with database management will be advantageous.
Languages: Proficiency in Italian is mandatory for this position, as the intern will need to liaise with external services and suppliers. Additionally, English is the official working language of UNHCR in Italy, and candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
Additional Notes: This is a full-time internship role with working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, totaling 37.5 hours per week. Interns who do not receive financial support from an external party will receive an allowance to help cover living expenses.
