The intern will work under the guidance of the Country Programme Manager and will be involved in a variety of programme and operational activities. The intern will engage in tasks that include preparing briefs and presentations, conducting research on urban governance and sustainable development, and assisting in organizing events and workshops. Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a range of duties that support the overall objectives of the Country Office. Key responsibilities include:
Programme & Technical Support: Assisting in the preparation of briefs, presentations, and background materials for meetings; supporting data gathering and desk research; reviewing project materials and best practices; participating in meetings and preparing summaries.
Research & Knowledge Generation: Conducting research on urban governance and sustainable development; compiling best practices; documenting lessons learned and project activities.
Coordination & Event Support: Organizing workshops, training sessions, and consultative meetings; managing logistical arrangements and documentation.
Communication & Visibility: Drafting content for social media; documenting activities; contributing to outreach efforts.
General Office Support: Preparing periodic reports; maintaining organized electronic files; performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in a graduate school programme, be in the final year of a first university degree program, or have graduated with a relevant degree. Candidates should be proficient in standard software applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite. A strong interest in the work of the United Nations and a commitment to its ideals are essential. Additionally, applicants should demonstrate the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and beliefs. Preferred fields of study include mass communication, journalism, economics, political science, business administration, urban planning, and other relevant social sciences.
Educational Background: Candidates must be enrolled in or have completed a relevant degree program. This includes being a student in the final year of a bachelor's degree, or enrolled in a master's or Ph.D. program. Proof of enrollment or graduation will be required during the application process.
