The areas of intervention include humanitarian response and recovery, migration management, migration health services, movement assistance, migration protection, and migration data management.

Job Overview:
The Information Management Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the Chief of Mission. This role involves the compilation of data, information analysis, and report designing within the framework of IOM's Strengthening Human Rights Monitoring and Protection Project in Zimbabwe. The coordinator will support the development of a comprehensive data management system, ensuring effective data collection, storage, and sharing workflows, while implementing data protection and governance mechanisms. Responsibilities include collecting, analyzing, and presenting data to meet project reporting needs, designing reports, maintaining quality data structures, and utilizing statistical analyses and visualization best practices through tools like Tableau. The coordinator will supervise information management staff and implement activities in accordance with ITC policies and standards. Additionally, they will support the implementation of regional ECHO projects, engage with stakeholders for data collection, create visually engaging infographics, and prepare presentations related to project needs. The role also involves identifying data gaps and contributing to project proposals to address these needs, while applying IOM's data protection principles.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Compile and analyze data to meet project reporting needs, including designing and laying out reports.
  • Maintain quality data structures for data analysis and implement statistical analyses and visualization best practices.
  • Supervise information management staff and ensure adherence to ITC policies and standards.
  • Support the implementation of regional ECHO projects, coordinating with relevant country offices and data support teams.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including government and UN partners, to facilitate data collection and keep information current.
  • Create visually engaging infographics and prepare PowerPoint presentations for project needs.
  • Identify gaps in data relevant to program implementation and contribute to project proposals.
  • Apply IOM's data protection principles and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Media, Social Sciences, or a related field from an accredited institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or a University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proven experience in using data analysis tools such as Power BI and Tableau Software.
  • Experience in information management, including data collection, storage, processing, and analysis.
  • Expertise in graphic design software and technologies, with knowledge of infographics programs like Canva being an asset.
  • Excellent design skills, including typography, layout, and color theory.
  • Demonstrated experience using presentation software such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, PowerPoint, and Keynote.
  • In-depth knowledge of technological developments in information technology and systems.
  • Proven skills in analyzing statistical information and formulating technical requirements for data capture and analysis.
  • Ability to compile and analyze diverse datasets and handle confidential data. 1
  • Demonstrated team-building and information management skills, with an understanding of different data collection methodologies. 1
  • Experience in advanced data visualization and information design skills, and collaboration with government entities or stakeholders in data management.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Media, Social Sciences, or a related field from an accredited academic institution. Alternatively, a University degree in the aforementioned fields with four years of relevant professional experience is acceptable. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience:
The position requires proven experience in the use of data analysis tools, such as Power BI and Tableau Software. Candidates should have experience in information management, including the management and coordination of information flows, data management, and the generation of information products. Expertise in graphic design software and cutting-edge technologies is preferred, along with a demonstrated ability to analyze statistical information and formulate technical requirements for data capture and analysis. Experience in collaborating with government entities or other relevant stakeholders in data management is also essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required, both oral and written. IOM’s official languages include English, French, and Spanish. Proficiency in these languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Any offer made to the candidate is subject to funding confirmation. This selection process may be used to staff similar positions in various duty stations, and recommended candidates will remain eligible for appointment in similar positions for a period of 24 months. National Professional Officers must be nationals of the country of their employment and perform work at the professional level, adhering to the same standards of recruitment qualifications and performance required for International Professional staff.
