Job Overview: The MSF Access advisor" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Advocacy Advisor is responsible for designing and implementing effective advocacy strategies aimed at overcoming access hurdles related to healthcare products. Reporting to the Head of Advocacy and Communication, the advisor will work closely with various stakeholders, including governments, non-governmental organizations, pharmaceutical companies, and the research community. The role involves analyzing global trends and opportunities, advising on new challenges and threats to MSF's strategic objectives, and collaborating with regional hubs to develop tailored advocacy strategies. The advisor will also coordinate with communication advisors to ensure that advocacy efforts are effectively communicated and aligned with MSF's priorities. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying key political events and policies that can be influenced to further MSF's mission of improving healthcare access.
Duties and Responsibilities: The MSF Access Advocacy Advisor will undertake a variety of duties, including: analyzing global trends and opportunities related to MSF's access objectives; collaborating with the MSF access analysis department to understand technical and medical challenges; developing efficient advocacy strategies and plans; coordinating with Access colleagues in regional hubs and advocacy counterparts to implement strategies; identifying key political events and policies for influence; developing strategies and tactics to engage with these processes; strengthening relationships with global stakeholders; representing MSF in relevant forums and meetings; and reporting on achievements and key discussions. The advisor will also be responsible for maintaining an overview of access initiatives across MSF and providing annual reports on these activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the MSF Access Advocacy Advisor position should possess a strong background in advocacy, public health, or a related field. They should have demonstrated experience in developing and implementing advocacy strategies, particularly in the context of healthcare access. Strong analytical skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
