Job Posting Organization:
SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL (SI) has been operational in South Sudan since 2006, focusing on emergency and post-emergency contexts, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas. The organization is dedicated to addressing the severe food insecurity and humanitarian crises faced by the population, which has been exacerbated by ongoing conflicts and natural disasters. SI's mission is to provide essential services, including water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security and livelihoods (FSL) support, to vulnerable communities, including refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs). The organization has established a strong presence in South Sudan, with a significant budget and a dedicated workforce, aiming to deliver high-quality humanitarian assistance while ensuring proper coordination with other actors in the field.

Job Overview:
The position of Missions involves ensuring that the team has access to relevant IT applications used by SI, such as Teams and SharePoint, while enhancing user capacity through recurrent on-the-job training and support. The role also encompasses supplies management, where the individual will select storage locations, create development and security plans for these sites, and ensure that materials are stored under suitable conditions. Monitoring expiration dates and ensuring that stock documentation is complete and correct are also key responsibilities. The individual will implement team safety measures as determined by the coordination team and communicate any security-related information to their line manager. The first 2-3 months will focus on training new supervisors, improving work and living conditions, and recruiting the FSL team, while also managing relationships with local authorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage supplies by selecting appropriate storage locations and developing security plans for these sites.
  • Monitor the conditions of material storage and expiration dates.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures for stock management, including checking in and out of stock.
  • Supervise monthly physical stock inventories.
  • Implement safety measures for the team as determined by the coordination team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a diploma in Business Administration, Finance, or Supply Chain Management. They should have strong technical skills, including experience in procurement, supplies, and storage in conflict areas. A proven track record in supporting base scale-up in volatile conflict contexts and experience in team management and capacity building are essential. Familiarity with LINK software is considered an asset, as is experience in managing finance in remote areas. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and adapt to challenging environments.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required, specifically a diploma in Business Administration, Finance, or Supply Chain Management. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of administrative and finance management within humanitarian operations.

Experience:
Candidates should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a similar duration of experience in positions that involve logistics, supplies management, and team leadership. This level of experience is necessary to navigate the challenges of working in conflict-affected areas and to effectively manage resources and personnel.

Languages:
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with local communities and authorities.

Additional Notes:
The position is salaried, with compensation starting from EUR 2310 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 700 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment. The work schedule includes a system of alternation between work and time off, with breaks every two months and an additional rest day for each month worked. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Essential vaccinations and antimalarial treatments are also reimbursed. Living conditions are challenging, with limited social opportunities and basic amenities, and security constraints are present due to the volatile situation in South Sudan.
