Job Overview: The Integration Support Officer will play a crucial role in the project 'Helios+: Comprehensive actions for the integration of third-country nationals into the labour market' in the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. This position involves working closely with national and local authorities, as well as experienced partners, to promote the integration of beneficiaries of international protection and temporary protection into Greek society. The officer will be responsible for providing employability support, facilitating Greek language courses, offering vocational training, and assisting with independent living arrangements, including rental subsidies. The successful candidate will engage with beneficiaries through individual sessions, presentations, and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support, ensuring they are well-informed about their rights and available services. The role requires a proactive approach to monitoring the integration progress of beneficiaries and coordinating with various stakeholders to meet their needs effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Integration Support Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Providing information to eligible beneficiaries and facilitating their enrollment in the project.
Monitoring the progress of beneficiaries’ integration through individual sessions and follow-ups.
Conducting presentations to familiarize beneficiaries with the European Way of Life.
Organizing psychosocial support sessions to assist beneficiaries in their adjustment process.
Providing information about social welfare rights, housing, healthcare access, and education services.
Conducting referrals to other actors for cases requiring specialized support.
Coordinating with other project units, relevant authorities, and stakeholders to ensure beneficiaries' needs are met.
Evaluating requests for exemptions from mandatory Greek language courses.
Ensuring accurate data entry and maintaining quality physical archiving of Means of Verification. 1
Coordinating with Reception Facilities to present the project and enroll eligible beneficiaries. 1
Assisting beneficiaries in their search for apartments and administrative requirements, performing relevant verification actions as needed. 1
Performing other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in psychology, social work, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, along with a minimum of one year of relevant work experience. A master's degree in the aforementioned fields will be considered an advantage. Additionally, candidates should have a professional license where applicable and demonstrate a combination of knowledge, education, training, and skills necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. Experience in a multicultural environment is preferred, highlighting the importance of adaptability and cultural sensitivity in this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in psychology, social work, or any related field from an accredited institution. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Experience: The position requires at least one year of previous work experience in a relevant field.
