Job Overview:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the 'Strengthening the Reintegration of Returnees in The Gambia (STRONG) at the Community level' project. This initiative aims to provide comprehensive reintegration assistance to migrants through community-based initiatives and Mental Health and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services. The role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including government authorities, local communities, and international partners, to ensure the effective implementation of the project. The Project Coordinator will assist in building the capacities of local actors to facilitate sustainable reintegration processes and will be instrumental in monitoring and evaluating project outcomes. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying challenges and proposing solutions to enhance project delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Coordinator will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: coordinating the implementation and monitoring of project activities; supporting the Project Manager in stakeholder engagement; assisting in the development of work plans and project budgets; contributing to capacity-building initiatives for local stakeholders; ensuring compliance with IOM policies and donor requirements; collecting and analyzing data related to project activities; preparing and disseminating project reports; facilitating community engagement and participatory planning processes; and providing training and technical guidance to project staff. The role also involves attending relevant meetings and workshops, liaising with donors and partners, and undertaking travel for project-related activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to maintain partnerships with various stakeholders. They should demonstrate excellent writing and analytical abilities, as well as solid project management skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in community-based project implementation and a deep understanding of migration issues. Additionally, they should be able to prioritize tasks effectively and work under pressure with minimal supervision.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in political or social sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited institution is required. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in the aforementioned fields with two years of relevant professional experience will also be considered. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience:
Candidates should have experience working with various stakeholders, including government authorities, UN agencies, and NGOs. They should have a background in designing and implementing community-based reintegration projects and possess experience in project management, reporting, and evaluation. Familiarity with migration-related issues and experience in community engagement and capacity-building activities are essential. Regular travel to project intervention areas is expected, and candidates should have a good understanding of participatory community-based planning tools.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both oral and written. Knowledge of any two local languages and French is considered an advantage. Proficiency in the required languages will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Additional Notes:
The position is subject to funding confirmation, and the selection process may be used to fill similar positions in various duty stations. National Professional Officers must be nationals of the country of their employment. The appointment will be contingent upon medical fitness certification and verification of residency and visa requirements.
