Job Overview:
The Team Assistant (Procurement) position is a temporary role based in La Paz, Bolivia, within the Country Office Bolivia (COBOL) of the UNODC. The incumbent will report to the ROCOL Procurement Officer and will be responsible for a wide range of office support and administrative functions related to procurement and supply chain management. The role requires the individual to monitor processes, assist in the verification of documents, and ensure compliance with legal and financial requirements. The Team Assistant will also be involved in research, data compilation, and the generation of reports, as well as providing logistical support for meetings and conferences. This position is crucial for maintaining the efficiency of procurement operations and ensuring that the office meets its objectives in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Team Assistant include performing a variety of office support tasks, such as administrative procurement functions, monitoring unit outputs, and assisting in the verification of documents. The incumbent will research and compile information for reports and work plans, generate statistical reports using databases, and provide secretarial support for meetings. Additional responsibilities include data entry, processing mail, maintaining files and databases, assisting with the preparation of Terms of Reference for procurement procedures, and monitoring supplier participation in tenders. The Team Assistant will also coordinate the shipment of goods, verify receipt and inspection of deliverables, and provide guidance to less experienced staff. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies (CIPS) Level 4 or equivalent certification is desirable. The role requires knowledge of procurement policies and financial regulations, as well as the ability to research and gather information effectively. Candidates should demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and client orientation, with a focus on achieving organizational goals and maintaining productive partnerships with clients.

Educational Background:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. Additionally, the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies (CIPS) Level 4 or equivalent certification is desirable, indicating a foundational understanding of procurement practices and principles.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least two years of relevant work experience in administrative procurement or supply chain support. However, this requirement is reduced to zero years for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience in general office support or related areas is desirable, along with one year or more of experience in data analytics or a related field. Familiarity with procurement procedures within the UN Common System or similar international organizations is also desirable, as is experience with Systems, Application and Products (SAP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Languages:
For this position, proficiency in English and Spanish is required, as these are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of French is also beneficial.
