Job Overview:
The FAO Representative (FAOR) is responsible for managing the FAO country program, office, resources, and staff. This position requires reporting to the director-general" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Assistant Director-General/Regional Representative and working closely with the Regional Leadership Team. The FAOR is expected to lead FAO's response to national priorities and sustainable development challenges, advocating for actions that align with the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A minimum of ten years of relevant experience in planning, formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of field programs is required. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in English and intermediate knowledge of another official FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in a field related to the activities of the Organization is essential. Relevant fields include agriculture, forestry, fishery, or rural development, among others.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least ten years of relevant experience, particularly in planning, formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of field programs. Experience in multiple locations or areas of work, especially in field positions and emergency settings, is essential. The candidate should also have experience in developing and managing country field programs from design to delivery, as well as in coordinating technical cooperation projects and programs.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, with a working knowledge (level C) required. Additionally, candidates should have intermediate knowledge (level B) of another official FAO language, which may include Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish.
