SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid organization that has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflict and natural disasters for over 40 years. The organization is dedicated to responding to the basic needs of affected populations, particularly in the areas of food, water, and shelter. SI is particularly focused on combating diseases linked to unsafe water, which is the leading cause of death worldwide. SI operates in more than 20 countries, employing teams made up of expatriates, national employees, permanent staff at headquarters, and a few volunteers who work with professionalism and commitment while respecting local cultures.

Job Overview:
The position of Missions within SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL involves being part of a flying support team (OSS Operations Support Staff) that is deployed to various country offices for assignments lasting from 2 weeks to 3 months. The OSS team members are tasked with filling strategic gaps and providing technical support to existing country offices, supporting assessments and the opening of new operations, and conducting assessments for new country offices. As delegates of headquarters, OSS team members represent the organization during their deployments and play a crucial role in executing the mandate and procedures of SI in their assigned missions. The deployment of OSS members is supervised by the Director of Operations, and they work under the responsibility of the Country Director or corresponding Regional Director during their assignments. The WASH Coordinator, as part of the OSS team, is specifically focused on Water, Hygiene, and Sanitation, and is deployed primarily to fill gaps in WASH coordinator positions, respond to emergencies, launch projects, and strengthen the skills of WASH teams on missions. The Flying WASH Coordinator also contributes to the development of SI's strategy by proposing a sectoral strategy and ensuring that WASH activities align with the organization's overall objectives and the needs of the populations served.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the OSS members include responding to mission support needs via SI's four geographical desks, working under the supervision of the Director of Operations, and being responsible for the operational monitoring of WASH programmes. The WASH Coordinator is expected to fill gaps in WASH coordinator positions, respond to emergencies, launch projects, and support key positioning issues related to WASH. They are also responsible for ensuring the quality and relevance of technical approaches proposed, coordinating the project cycle, and ensuring that WASH activities are aligned with the overall objectives of the organization and the needs of the populations served.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a BAC +5 level education in WASH-related diplomas. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience as a WASH Coordinator in the humanitarian sector. Additionally, candidates should possess good experience in WASH emergency programming, experience in opening bases and implementing hard WASH activities, and experience in capacity building of WASH teams.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a BAC +5 level education in a field related to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH). This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities and technical requirements of the position.

Experience:
Candidates should have 3 to 4 years of experience working as a WASH Coordinator in the humanitarian sector. This experience is crucial for understanding the challenges and requirements of working in emergency and development contexts, particularly in relation to water, sanitation, and hygiene.

Languages:
Fluency in French and English is mandatory, with very good reading, writing, and speaking skills in both languages. Fluency in additional languages, particularly Arabic and Spanish, is considered a plus and may enhance a candidate's suitability for the position.

Additional Notes:
The position offers a permanent expatriate contract with a salary calculated based on the expatriate salary scale, starting at €2,600 per month. Per diem and accommodation are covered during deployments, and employees receive one day off for each weekend spent in the field, along with 25 days of paid vacation. There is no reduced working time (RTT) offered. Health and life insurance, as well as repatriation, are fully covered. Employees have the option to choose their location (France or abroad) outside of deployment periods.
