Job Overview: The Project Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of project activities in Bihar and other states. This position requires close collaboration with the State Project Officer and the National Project Manager of the Action for Climate and Environment Unit. The Project Analyst will provide technical guidance, track project progress, prepare reports, and disseminate best practices. The role involves overseeing project activities, ensuring effective monitoring of results and risks, and integrating climate change considerations into development programs. The Project Analyst will also be responsible for facilitating project management, liaising with stakeholders, and developing training modules for capacity building in climate-resilient agriculture and natural resource management.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Analyst will be responsible for the following duties:
Provide technical inputs for climate-resilient agriculture demonstrations.
Liaise with government departments and stakeholders to ensure effective project execution.
Establish connections with technical institutions and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in agriculture and climate change.
Develop training modules and conduct workshops for stakeholders.
Prepare annual work plans and ensure timely reporting on project activities.
Monitor project progress and manage contracts with partner CSOs, addressing risks and ensuring deliverables.
Review reports and financial documents from project partners.
Participate in review meetings and discussions related to project implementation and monitoring. 1
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.
Required Qualifications: The position requires an advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in Agriculture, Agri. Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s) with two years of relevant experience will be considered. Candidates should demonstrate experience working with government bodies, NGOs, or international organizations in agriculture and natural resource management, particularly in climate-resilient agriculture projects. Experience in training and capacity building at the sub-national level is also desirable.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Agriculture, Agri. Engineering, or Environmental Science. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) combined with two years of qualifying experience will be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
Experience: For applicants with a master’s degree, no professional work experience is required. However, those with a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in program or project management. Desired skills include experience with government or civil society organizations on agriculture and natural resource management, as well as demonstrated experience in climate-resilient agriculture projects.
Languages: Fluency in English and Hindi is required for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, but is not mandatory.
Additional Notes: This position is based in Patna, Bihar, and is part of a project implementation phase. The role may involve contract management and requires the ability to manage deliverables and payments effectively.
