Job Overview:
The consultant will play a crucial role in the TrainForTrade programme, which aims to enhance the capacity and knowledge of beneficiaries in Africa and Asia. The consultant's primary responsibilities will include conducting research on sustainable trade and development, analyzing the performance and impact of TrainForTrade activities, and developing a multimedia content strategy to promote the programme's initiatives. The consultant will also be responsible for managing social media accounts, creating and disseminating information, and supporting the organization of events related to port management, e-commerce, and trade statistics. This position requires a proactive approach to communication and a commitment to inclusive language practices in line with United Nations guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be tasked with a variety of duties including conducting desk-based research on topics such as sustainable trade and development, digital connectivity, and port management. They will collect and analyze data on the performance of TrainForTrade's capacity-building activities and develop a multimedia content strategy for specific campaigns. The consultant will support creative brainstorming sessions, manage community groups on social media, and contribute to the overall communication policy of TrainForTrade. They will produce and publish content on social media platforms, promote events, provide guidelines for webinars, and liaise with stakeholders to enhance the visibility of the programme. Additionally, the consultant will assist in the preparation and delivery of training events and workshops, ensuring that all communications adhere to gender-inclusive language guidelines.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least 8 years of working experience in project management within international organizations or training institutions, particularly in developing countries. Experience in liaising with stakeholders from both public and private sectors, especially in an online context, is essential. The consultant should have a strong background in communications, including social media and web content management. Familiarity with UNCTAD's TRAINFORTRADE Port Management Programme and its capacity-building methodology is desirable, as is experience with digital tools and applications related to training activities.

Educational Background:
