Job Overview: The Communication Partnership Officer will play a crucial role in supporting UNICEF São Tomé e Príncipe in achieving key results related to communication strategy, networking and partnerships, capacity building, and strategic resource mobilization. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that enhance visibility and secure funding for child rights initiatives. This position requires a dynamic approach to advocacy and resource mobilization, ensuring that UNICEF's mission is effectively communicated to various stakeholders. The officer will also work closely with partners to build relationships that support the organization's goals and enhance its impact in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with UNICEF's goals and objectives.
Build and maintain partnerships with local and international organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to enhance collaboration and resource mobilization.
Provide capacity building and support to staff and partners in communication and advocacy efforts.
Oversee the development of proposals for funding from traditional and non-traditional sources, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's mission.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and initiatives, making adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes.
Represent UNICEF at meetings, conferences, and events to advocate for child rights and promote the organization's work.
Collaborate with other UNICEF programs to ensure integrated communication efforts that support overall program delivery.
Prepare reports and presentations on communication activities and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
A University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Development, Social Science, or a relevant technical field is required.
At least two years of progressively responsible professional experience in communication and advocacy, media, public affairs, program management, resource mobilization, or external relations.
Proven ability to develop and implement effective communication strategies and initiatives.
Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Portuguese and English.
Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is an asset.

Languages: Fluency in Portuguese and English is required for this position. Additionally, knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset. Proficiency in these languages will enhance communication with diverse stakeholders and facilitate effective advocacy efforts.
