Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be expected to perform a range of duties that support the Human Rights Council Branch. These include drafting daily notes of proceedings for information sharing, collecting and filing documents and statements related to agenda items, and assisting in the finalization of draft reports. Interns will prepare statistical reports on the Council's work, which involves collecting and reviewing data on participants, meetings, and documentation. They will also contribute to analyzing trends affecting the Council's work and suggest improvements. Additional responsibilities include preparing draft summaries of communications, assisting in the preparation of meetings, and following up on activities organized by OHCHR and other stakeholders. Interns may also draft media highlights and assist with outreach activities, responding to queries from non-governmental organizations.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the internship program at the United Nations, applicants must be either graduates or currently enrolled in a graduate school program, such as a Master's degree, or in the final year of a Bachelor's degree program in relevant fields such as law, political science, international relations, or social sciences. While no professional work experience is required, applicants should demonstrate how their education and skills can benefit the United Nations during their internship.
