Job Overview:
The Partnership Officer will work under the supervision of the Partnership Officer and will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with private sector entities to advance UNICEF's mission and objectives. This role requires identifying collaboration opportunities, managing relationships, and ensuring effective communication between UNICEF and its private sector partners. The incumbent will support the development of a vision and strategy for engagements with the business sector to benefit children in Mongolia, working closely with various sections to cultivate relationships with key private sector stakeholders, including corporations and industry associations. The role also involves promoting the organization’s mission within the private sector, supporting the rollout of the Business For Results (B4R) initiative, and ensuring compliance with UNICEF rules and regulations while assisting in the planning and execution of private sector engagement projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Partnership Officer include:
  • Developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with private sector entities.
  • Identifying opportunities for collaboration and managing relationships with private sector partners.
  • Supporting the development of a vision and strategy for engagements with the business sector.
  • Working with different sections to identify and cultivate relationships with key private sector stakeholders.
  • Providing leadership for the engagement for 1% of corporate tax income in support of the Prime Minister's agenda.
  • Partnering with government stakeholders to unlock new private sector resources for child rights and well-being programs.
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of partnerships for program delivery and advocacy.
  • Gathering market intelligence and assisting in donor prospection.
  • Drafting program propositions and partnership agreements. 1
  • Supporting donor reporting and ensuring compliance with UNICEF regulations. 1
  • Planning, executing, and evaluating private sector engagement projects. 1
  • Identifying and securing funding and in-kind support from private sector partners. 1
  • Preparing regular reports on engagement activities and outcomes for stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
The minimum requirements for the Partnership Officer position include a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field. Candidates should have a minimum of 1 year of professional experience in private sector engagement, partnership development, or a related field. A basic understanding of the private sector's role in social development is essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. An understanding of development programming for children or related fields will be considered a strong asset.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of partnership development and private sector engagement.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 1 year of professional experience in private sector engagement, partnership development, or a related field. This experience is necessary to effectively manage relationships and develop strategic partnerships that align with UNICEF's mission.

Languages:
Fluency in English and the local language is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
