Job Overview:
The Reporting Officer will play a crucial role in supporting UNHCR's donor engagement and resource mobilization efforts. This position is vital for ensuring that high-quality deliverables are produced and that they align strategically with the organization's priorities. The incumbent will be responsible for developing funding proposals, assisting in donor reporting, conducting donor landscape analysis, and providing budget advisory support. The role requires collaboration with various UNHCR teams, including field operations and regional bureaux, to enhance the quality and efficiency of funding proposals and reports. The Reporting Officer will also utilize AI tools and data-driven insights to improve proposal development and reporting processes, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines and organizational standards. This position is home-based, allowing for flexibility while contributing to UNHCR's mission of supporting displaced individuals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Reporting Officer's duties and responsibilities include:
  • Supporting UNHCR operations in preparing funding proposals, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and organizational priorities.
  • Assisting field, Bureaux, and HQ teams in producing donor reports, focusing on clarity, accuracy, and compliance with guidelines.
  • Conducting donor landscape analysis to identify potential funding sources and monitoring emerging trends.
  • Advising on budget presentations within donor proposals to ensure transparency and alignment with operational needs.
  • Participating in coordination meetings related to the route-based approach and representing GPS in internal meetings.
  • Maintaining regular communication with country offices, regional bureaux, and HQ divisions to ensure timely information exchange.
  • Developing and maintaining a repository of best practices and templates for donor proposals and reports.
  • Utilizing AI and data visualization tools to present funding trends and opportunities.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Reporting Officer position include:
  • A strong educational background in International Relations, Political Science, Social Sciences, Journalism, Communication, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Expertise in writing and negotiating multi-agency projects.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with an undergraduate degree, 5 years with a graduate degree, or 4 years with a doctorate degree in project writing with major donors.
  • A firm grasp of donor funding procedures and previous experience with donor relations.
  • Strong writing and editing skills in English, with the ability to draft compelling proposals and fundraising materials.
  • Strong communication skills in French are considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, flexibility, and proactivity to manage challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different fields and locations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite.

Additional Notes:
This position is classified as an International UNOPS Contractor role, which does not require a functional clearance. It is a remote position, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements. The contract duration is set to begin as soon as possible and will last until December 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs. The Reporting Officer will work under the supervision of the Senior Public Partnerships Officer, Ms. Katariina Stewart, and will be expected to participate in regular meetings to report on progress and challenges.
