Job Overview: The position involves facilitating the International Workshop on Quality Infrastructure Development, scheduled for 25-27 February 2026 in Tokyo, Japan. The workshop aims to enhance the capabilities of senior national government officials by providing them with advanced knowledge and innovative approaches to building sustainable and resilient road networks. The consultant will play a crucial role in preparing for the workshop, moderating discussions, and ensuring effective knowledge sharing among participants. The workshop will focus on integrating advanced technologies and sustainable practices into infrastructure development, addressing the challenges posed by climate change and aging infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1) Workshop Preparation and Moderation: The consultant will provide substantive support for the workshop, including preparing presentations, participating in preparatory meetings, and moderating all sessions to facilitate effective discussions. 2) Documentation and Reporting: The consultant will prepare a comprehensive summary report that documents key discussions, outcomes, and recommendations from the workshop. This includes capturing insights from presentations, case studies, and participant interactions to ensure a thorough record of the event's proceedings.
Required Qualifications: (1) A Master’s degree in science, engineering, or a related field is required. (2) A minimum of 10 years of experience in project implementation, management, and reporting, particularly in road and infrastructure development, as well as environmentally sustainable and resilient transportation systems. (3) Proven expertise in moderating international workshops and facilitating discussions is essential for this role.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as science or engineering. This educational background is crucial for understanding the technical aspects of infrastructure development and sustainability.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in project implementation and management, specifically in the context of road and infrastructure development. Candidates should have a strong track record of working on environmentally sustainable and resilient transportation systems, demonstrating their ability to navigate complex project environments and deliver results.
