Job Overview: The Associate Programme Officer (MTIT) plays a crucial role within the Division of Information Technology at the IAEA. This position involves supporting the Director and Section Heads in tracking deadlines and deliverables, as well as developing and implementing methods to collect and monitor performance indicators. The incumbent will conduct financial and budgetary analyses, prepare reports, and assist in the coordination of the Division’s programme and budget. The role requires collaboration with various departments and offices to enhance internal communication and effectiveness. The Associate Programme Officer will also be responsible for ensuring that the Division's activities align with the overall strategic goals of the IAEA, thereby contributing to the efficient implementation of information and communication technology initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Programme Officer (MTIT) include coordinating activities between the Division’s Sections to improve efficiency and effectiveness, conducting analyses and drafting reports for decision-makers, providing centralized support for Divisional activities, tracking deadlines and deliverables, and developing performance indicators. The incumbent will contribute to resource planning and budget implementation by monitoring progress across all awards and sections, identifying financial challenges, and making recommendations for resolution. Additionally, the Associate Programme Officer will participate in the development of the Division’s programme and budget submission, provide quality checks for financial data, and support quarterly reporting efforts.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in international relations, business administration, economics, or a related field. A minimum of two years of experience in programme and resources planning, assessment, and review is required. Knowledge of results-based management principles and project planning is essential. Proficiency in common computer applications for word processing, data analysis, and report preparation is necessary, along with familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications such as ORACLE. Strong analytical and financial skills, as well as the ability to work independently and follow up on tasks, are also required.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university in fields such as international relations, business administration, economics, or a closely related discipline. This foundational education is critical for understanding the complexities of programme and resource planning within an international context.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in programme and resources planning, assessment, and review. This experience should ideally be in a similar international or governmental organization, where the candidate has developed skills in financial analysis, reporting, and project management. Familiarity with the principles of results-based management and programme planning is also essential for success in this role.
Languages: The mandatory language for this position is English, with an excellent oral and written command required. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's application.
Additional Notes: The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $55,163, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance.
