Job Overview: The Partnerships & Philanthropy Relationship Manager position at Save the Children Australia is a 12-month fixed-term role that plays a crucial part in the Corporate Partnerships team. The primary focus of this role is to foster and manage relationships with corporate partners and major donors, contributing to the organization's vision of creating a better world for children. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading initiatives related to corporate partner acquisition and stewardship, as well as executing the communications and marketing strategy for the Partners for Good program. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Save the Children can continue to provide support and resources to children in need, both locally and internationally. The manager will be expected to grow a robust pipeline of major donors and corporate partners, develop compelling materials for donor engagement, and maintain strategic communication with stakeholders, all aimed at increasing contributions to the annual giving program.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Partnerships & Philanthropy Relationship Manager will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Growing and managing a pipeline of major donors and corporate partners for the Partners for Good annual giving program.
Creating compelling cultivation and solicitation materials to enhance donor contributions.
Co-leading the strategy and execution of unrestricted product acquisition and engagement initiatives.
Developing and implementing an annual engagement calendar that includes events, communications, and outreach to donors.
Managing a portfolio of major donors and corporate partners through personalized and strategic communication.
Maintaining accurate and comprehensive donor records, including preferences, interactions, and stewardship plans.
Collaborating with internal teams to align fundraising strategies with organizational goals.
Reporting on fundraising progress and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Partnerships & Philanthropy Relationship Manager role must possess a range of qualifications, including:
Demonstrated successful experience in managing supporter relationships within the corporate or major donor sectors.
Proven track record in developing new business and securing funding from corporate partners and major donors.
Strong financial and budget management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a knack for presenting information in a clear and compelling manner.
Exceptional relationship management, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Experience in developing effective cultivation and solicitation strategies to engage donors.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate for this position should have a relevant educational background, typically including a degree in fields such as business, marketing, communications, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees or certifications in fundraising or nonprofit management may be advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to professional development in the sector.
Experience: The role requires significant experience in fundraising, particularly in corporate partnerships and major donor engagement. Candidates should have a proven history of successfully managing relationships and securing funding, ideally with at least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the nonprofit sector or corporate philanthropy.
Languages: While English is the mandatory language for this position, proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they relate to the communities served by Save the Children Australia.
