Public Information Intern

Job Overview:
The Public intern" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Information Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the work of the Secretariat of the Special Envoy for Road Safety. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to gain practical experience in public information and outreach within a significant international organization. The intern will be expected to engage in research activities that will help identify potential partners and inform the activities of the Special Envoy. Additionally, the intern will draft articles, briefing notes, and other communications aimed at raising awareness about the global road safety crisis. The role also involves researching initiatives that connect road safety with other sustainable development goals, supporting events and campaigns, and managing social media activities related to the Special Envoy's work. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the intersection of road safety and international development while contributing to meaningful projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: conducting research to support the identification of potential partners for the Special Envoy's initiatives; drafting articles, briefing notes, and outreach communications to enhance visibility regarding road safety issues; researching initiatives that demonstrate the relationship between road safety and other sustainable development goals; assisting in the planning and execution of events, campaigns, and projects organized by the Special Envoy; supporting social media activities to promote the Special Envoy's work; and performing other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of the Secretariat. This role requires a proactive approach and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications at the time of application: they must be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) or be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent). This ensures that the intern has a solid academic foundation and is capable of contributing effectively to the work of the Secretariat.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes enrollment in a graduate program or being in the final year of an undergraduate program. This requirement indicates that candidates should have a strong academic background, preferably in fields related to public policy, international relations, communications, or a related discipline that aligns with the work of the United Nations and road safety initiatives.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandated for this internship, candidates should demonstrate a keen interest in public information, road safety, and sustainable development. Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
